Title: The Old Creek

Prompt: Fugue Refugee

I miss the music of my creek.
Softly burbling down it's concrete
road. We used to walk through it
legs spread part as we investigated,
going where we were forbidden to go,
for fear of evil mosquitoes
and nastier things.
Sometimes it flooded and looked
More like a wild river than our sweet creek,
Aweful in the old sense,
There was wonder there.
Industrialized though it was,
there was magic in it.

This is a pretty poem! I am not sure that I entirely see the prompt phrases represented within, but that could be largely based upon interpretation. I think with an eye towards editing spelling you could have something really lovely here. It was quite enjoyable, and I thank you for sharing!

This made me smile and remember the joys of wading in creeks when I was younger.

Maybe that's my problem, maybe I should snub my nose at convention and just wade more.

Life did seem more magical then..

Thanks for reminding me of pleasant times:)
